Friday Randoms

Warning: This post is very random. Good luck trying to keep up :)

As most of y'all know, I started my new job as a nanny this week. It has been such a wonderful experience, and I know I am going to continue to love it. It has actually been a very easy first week. The youngest got sick with the flu yesterday morning =\ poor thing... so I only had to watch the other two for a couple of hours after they got home from school. I wanted to get them out of the house, so we went to the library & chik-fil-a for a snack. We will likely be doing something similar this afternoon since the youngest is still running a fever. I sure hope she gets to feeling better soon! I also hope that the other two kiddos don't get sick (me either, for that matter).

I am so looking forward to spending a relaxing weekend with my hunny. It's supposed to rain all weekend, so I foresee lots of movie watching, cuddling, and book reading. We are also considering visiting a local church this Sunday. There are so many churches around here and lots of different dominations to choose from. I figure Matt and I can start visiting a different church every Sunday until we find one that's perfect for us. Matt grew up attending Methodist and Baptist churches, and I have attended the same Episcopal church my entire life. We both want to check out churches around here that are these dominations as well as probably a Lutheran church. We really do not know much about Lutheran churches. There are TONS of Lutheran churches around here, and hardly any where we are from. We have heard that it's similar to Episcopal, so we want to check it out. If anyone knows anymore about it, I would love to hear from you. Hopefully, we will find a church that we fall in love with. We are hoping to find a more contemporary service, a congregation that includes younger couples, and a church that has programs for people in their 20's... like a Bible Study group.

Moving on to my next random thought, I am currently reading the book Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. I am on Chapter 6 and still having a hard time getting into it. Has anyone else read this? Since this book is being made into a movie, I thought I would read it before it came out. I love watching movies and seeing how different they are from the actual book. I will have to say typically the book is much better! I'll let y'all know what I think once I finish it.

Miss Tiffani from Lifes-A-Blog passed on the Stylish Blogger Award to me this week! Thanks so much for thinking of me :) All of my followers really brighten my day!

What are your plans for the weekend? Whatever it is, y'all have a FANTASTIC weekend!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Sorry that I've been a little MIA this week. I haven't gotten used to my new schedule quite yet.

Linking up with JAIME for WILW

  • I'm loving this new addition to my backseat and the little ones who now ride back there :) It's going to take me a while to get used to seeing this seat back there.
Sorry for the poor pic quality. I snapped it on my phone.

  • I'm loving that the groundhog did NOT see his shadow. Spring will be coming early this year! Yayyy... I'm so sick of this cold weather.
  • I'm loving that it was actually pretty here today. The kiddos and I were able to play outside for a while. It's always nice to get out of the house :)

  • I'm loving my wonderful fiance who didn't complain about eating leftovers for supper tonight!

  • I'm loving this wonderful award that Michelle gave me :) Thanks so much! Y'all go check out her blog.

  • And last but not least, I'm loving all of my followers!! I have over 30 followers & I couldn't be more excited. Thanks to everyone for all your lovely comments.
Have a great week everyone! Only 2 more days left in the work week =)

Miscellany Monday

1. Today was my first day as a nanny. It was so much fun! I can already tell I'm going to love it :)

2. I'm excited to look up different craft ideas to use with the children. I already have a Valentine's day activity running through my head.

3. The Bachelor comes on tonight!! I will readily admit that I love it. I really want Emily to win. I sure wish he would get rid of Michelle... She is absolutely crazy!

The Bachelor 2011's Emily Maynard Season 15

4. AND can't forget about Pretty Little Liars :) I just love this show & their cute clothes don't hurt either! Especially Aria's!

5. Even though I'm not participating, I am really looking forward to seeing everyone's 30 for 30 outfits. I wish I was creative enough to do this, but I have a hard enough time getting dressed in the mornings as it is haha!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Monday! I know I am already looking forward to the weekend :)

Day at the Park

It's finally the weekend!! :) My parents are coming to town tomorrow, and I could not be more excited. Matt and I are really looking forward to spending time with them. What all do y'all have planned for the weekend?

I practiced my photography skills yesterday by going to the park by our apartment. Our apartment complex is near a beautiful lake, so I thought it would be a great place to practice!

Design Advice Needed!

As I was laying in bed last night, I got to thinking about how I would decorate our new rental home. I know, we aren't moving for another month and a half... what can I say? I like to plan ahead. Just ask the fiance! I drive him nuts with all of my plans :)

In the new house, there is a formal dining room which is really nice BUT we hardly ever sit at our table to eat. It seems like such a waste to use the entire room for just the table. I need some ideas of how to incorporate other functional furniture pieces such as a desk into the room. I need this room to be multi-functional!

This is the dining room. This picture came from the rental advertisement, so this is obviously a previous renter's things. Not the best pic.. But it's all I've got right now! The wall that is not shown is an entry way into the den.

This is not our exact set, but it is very similar. As you can see, it's a very small table. I just can't see using the whole room to only house this baby.

EXPEDIT Workstation white Width: 60 5/8 " Depth: 31 1/8 " Height: 58 5/8 " Width: 154 cm Depth: 79 cm Height: 149 cm

This is the exact desk that we have. Since it is a small home, I don't think there will be room for our desk in the guest bedroom which is where we have it in our current apartment.

Any ideas on how to incorporate both of these items into the room without it looking junky or a hodge-podge of furniture?? All ideas would be greatly appreciated!

This Calls for a Celebration

I GOT A JOB!!!

Yep, I'm going to be a nanny for 3 wonderful children :)

For those of you who don't know, I am currently finishing my last semester of college by taking online courses. All I had left were elective credits to get, so the classes I'm taking are fairly easy and not very time consuming. This has left me with uber amounts of free time and lots of boredom! After realizing how much free time I had, I decided I needed to get a part-time job. Plus, it would be nice to have some extra cash! Matt loved the idea ;)

Over the past few weeks, I interviewed with a wonderful family with three cute children. They interviewed others as well & had it down to me and other girl. BUT last night I found out I got the job!

I could not be more excited about this! It's the perfect part-time job. No minimum wage, no crazy hours, no working weekends. Much better than say working retail. I'll be working 12-5, five days a week.

The children are absolutely adorable! They are 4, 6, and 8. The two youngest are girls and the oldest a boy. I look forward to spending time with them and forming a relationship with them!

I'm sure with time I will have lots of funny stories to share with y'all & I will probably be asking for your advice. Heck, if you got any tips now I would love to hear! Especially ideas for craft projects! I love hearing y'alls thoughts and opinions :) Thanks so much for being so supportive and sweet to me! I really do appreciate the kind words, especially the other day when I told y'all about the rental house. Hope everyone is having an amazing Tuesday!!
